Walking Distance does not use ads, trackers, analytics cookies, accounts, or follower systems.
The archive stores only what you choose to submit: artifact ID, location description, optional map pin, optional note, optional photo, and optional name or handle.
Approximate locations are welcome. Exact locations are never required.
Your browser asks for permission only if you press “Use my location.” You can always tap the map or describe the place manually instead.
The site uses Supabase to store archive records, OpenStreetMap/CARTO map tiles to display maps, and Venmo only if you choose to support the archive.
